Fostering North Yorkshire wants to recruit foster carers who are able to care for children and young people.  Every year, we look after around 340 children at any one time, in fostering placements across the county. They range from babies to teenagers, come from many backgrounds and have various needs, but they have one thing in common - they are all looking for a caring family to help them feel safe, secure and happy.

We are now actively recruiting both people who are new to fostering and experienced foster carers. In your area we have children aged ten plus who require a foster family and disabled children who need short break carers. Also, along with other local authorities across the country, we are taking part in the resettlement of unaccompanied asylum seeking children - young people aged under 18 who are applying for asylum and have no relative or guardian in this country. 

So, if you enjoy having children in your life, whatever your age or circumstances, we will help you to find the right type of fostering and the best ‘fit’ for you and your family.
Fostering North Yorkshire values the contribution of our foster carers and offers a generous support package. This includes:

• Support from locally based social work teams, access to specialist services and tailored support packages - as well your own network of foster carers to provide you with advice and help. We also include membership of the Fostering Network which is a great resource for foster carers. 
• Great rewards – the best training available, opportunities for development and progression, plus huge job satisfaction and generous  financial packages – for example once you are an  accredited foster carer you can expect to receive around £300 for each week a child aged between 11-15 is in placement with you, equivalent to £16, 000 per annum (approx) – tax free.
• Working with you, as the only truly local fostering service in North Yorkshire, to ensure the best outcomes for the children and young people in our care - with excellent results and some great success stories.
